Too Pooped to Party

Despite the fact that Lincoln is almost 10 months old now, he still doesn't have any teeth. However, I think that atleast one little razor is trying to push its way through his sore gums as we speak. Linc has not been able to sleep very well for a few nights now, but last night was horrible! My poor baby was clearly in a lot of pain and I could not do anything for him. He had a few doses of Tylenol and some teething tablets, but those didn't seem to do the trick for him. Needless to say, I was up most of the night trying to comfort him and get him to sleep. I am sooo exhausted. Everytime I would lay him down after helping him get to sleep, he would choke on his drool and start to cough and the whole thing would start over again. My sweet husband took the day off work to stay home and take care of Lincoln so that I could catch up on my beauty rest. I say beauty rest because these days I am looking pretty haggard. Does anybody have some magic tricks to soothe teething discomfort? I do the Tylenol, tablets, and frozen teethers. That Oragel stuff just makes him mad. I don't think he appreciates the way it makes his gums feel. What else can I do? I look forward to hearing some expert advice from you super moms (and future super moms) out there.

President Hinckley

I was really sad to hear about the prophet's passing last night. He was a great man and a wonderful example of how we should be as members of the church. I will miss him a lot, but I know that he is happy to be able to be with his wife again.

Our Sabbath

Today, David and I spoke at the church services for Diamond Ranch Academy. It's a youth program by Apple Valley. I was really nervous to speak. David did a great job. Every time I hear him speak, I am so impressed. I admire him and the way he can connect with a group of people and speak so freely about his life experiences. The kids there seemed to really enjoy him and his message. There was one specific girl who was completely baffled at the fact that David has the will to even wake up in the morning. She told us that when bad things happen to her, she just wants to give up. I felt really sorry that she didn't seem to have the faith or the drive to move forward with her life. David just told her that he could choose to feel sorry for himself or he could choose to make the most of his situation and press forward with a good attitude. He told the kids that in life, there are a lot of things that you can't control, but you can always control how your react to the things that happen to you. Like I say, he did a really good job.

As I started to get Lincoln ready for church, I found that all of his church clothes were dirty so I put him in this onesie that Daniel got him for Christmas. He looked so cute that I could not resist taking a picture. Do you like the missionary tag and the scriptures?

Pathetic!

I am excited to get some more people on my blog list because at the moment, it looks like I have only two friends. Cory and Natalie are the only peeps on my friends list. (waah!) I am really excited to get in touch with some of you people I have lost contact with.

Welcome to Our Blog

So, I decided that I would start to get with the times and set up a blog for myself and my fam. I'm a little late on the hip stuff to do these days, but hey....that's just me.

Mommy land is awesome! I love being home with my baby. I can't believe how quickly Lincoln is growing up. He is such a cute little guy. His new thing is to poop out of his diapers. It's really fun! It's been happening for five consecutive days now. The crazy thing is, I don't mind cuz he's just so dang cute!

David and I are definitely loving parenthood. We work hard on being good parents so hopefully we don't mess Lincoln up too bad.

I am surviving living with my three boys. David and Lincoln belong to me, but Dan-the-man (my younger bro) is not mine. However, he has become like a second son to me. He has been fun to live with and it has been good being able to hang out with him a little more than before.

Well, I am looking forward to joining the century and becoming a blogger. I hope you check out my page often. Enjoy!
