One Year Pics

Over the weekend, we took Lincoln to get his one year pictures taken. These are some of our favorites!

The photographer made an elephant noise and it made Lincoln cry. I have to admit...it was kinda scary!

Lincoln always gets a cheezy grin when he pulls himself up to things. He is sure to look around to see if anyone noticed. He is so proud of himself.

Motherly Advice

Okay all you mommy pros and all you soon-to-be mommies who are always reading up on how to raise your child without totally messing them up; I have a question. The Doctor says I need to start weaning Lincoln off the bottle.....how do I do that exactly? I haven't tried, but I'm kinda scared. What are some good techniques?

We went for Lincoln's one year check-up today. It turns out that our little boy is tall and skinny like his daddy. He was high in the percentile for his height, but not very high in his weight. The low weight could possibly have something to do with the fact that everything that went in his mouth came shooting out of somewhere for an entire week. Do ya think?

The lowlight of the day was that he had to have 4 shots! OUCH! Talk about brutal! I wish he could understand that he only has to get shots to prevent him from getting REALLY sick. He is doing fine now. I wish I were as resilient as he. I will be thinking about those shots for days now, but I'm sure that to him, it's just a distant memory. Kids are so cool and forgiving. Thank goodness!

It's A Birthday Party! BYOB (bring your own bottle)

Yesterday we celebrated Lincoln's first birthday. We had a little family party for him and had some cake and ice cream. I was bummed because Lincoln is sick AGAIN! He wasn't the happiest birthday boy in the world, but it was still really fun!

I can't believe it's been a whole year that we have had Link in our little family! The time has gone by so fast.

This picture was taken right before I began my 2 hrs. of constant pushing. Lincoln was kinda stubborn and he didn't want to turn the right way. I pushed for a total of about 4 hours before he was born. Can you say "hemorrhoids?" Don't worry Becky and Kaesy! I don't think that is normal.

Finally he arrives! I was exhausted, but so excited! He was so cute!

David was such a proud papa!

This was taken right before we took Link home. What a little angel.

We have hundreds of pictures similar to this one. Believe it or not, we don't take nearly as many pictures as we used to.

This was my first attempt at cake decorating. Not bad right? Well, it didn't quite turn out the way I pictured in my head, but it works. It was really fun decorating it.

I made the sign and the shirt for Link's birthday. You can't really tell, but Lincoln's shirt says, "LINCOLN 01". I thought it was so cute that I made one for his cousin who is just 3 days older than Lincoln. The shirt is already too small so he probably won't wear it again. Oh well. We can keep it for a memory.

Since he was sick, Lincoln really wasn't much into opening presents.

Out of all the gifts, he liked the walker/scooter BOX the best. Naturally!

When it was all said and done, we had a good time despite our sickness. We are so grateful for our little boy. He has added so much to our lives. Now we can't even imagine life without him. He is such a blessing and we thank Heavenly Father every day for the opportunity to be his parents. WE LOVE YOU LINCOLN! Happy Birthday!
