Seeing Santa

The other night, we headed to St. George to finish some shopping. I toyed with the idea of taking Linc to see Santa, but was not sure how it would go. On the way, I asked him if he wanted to go see Santa. He quickly said, "no." and that was that. I casually asked him a couple more times while shopping and got the same response each time.

Near the end of our shopping trip, we found ourselves at the mall. We walked past Santa on our way to a store and Lincoln was not impressed. He didn't want anything to do with the big red guy. I was not about to make my son see Santa and induce a tantrum. I was not in the mood for that. I took his answer and didn't push the issue.

While walking through the mall to return to our car, Santa spotted Lincoln and kindly asked Linc if he would like a candy cane. Lincoln responded with a lispy "Yeth." and proceeded without me (!) to visit with Santa. Lincoln walked right up to Santa, looked him in the face and said, "cuz I want a spaceship." (Lincoln frequently starts his sentences with "cuz.") I was so proud of him. Aparently, so was Santa.


He handed Linc his promised candy cane and pulled him up on his lap quickly enough for me to snap a few pictures. It was perfect. Thanks Santa. We hope you come visit our house soon. :)

Happy Visit to the Dentist

Yesterday, I took Linc to his first dentist appointment. Leading up to the day, if he were asked "do you want to go to the dentist?" he would reply with an enthusiastic "YES!" and then he would proceed to tell you that Kate's mom is going to count his teeth.

However, on the actual appointment day, I asked him if he wanted to go to the dentist. He totally changed his mind about going. He did not want to go to the dentist at all. Darn!

After some talking, I finally convinced him to go. We saw Kate's mom (Janalee, who is also a Joy School teacher) there. She called him back to start the visit. He didn't want to sit in the chair alone so I held him on my lap while we moved up and down. He said, "It's kinda like a roller coaster!" After a bit, he asked me to take pictures so I slipped out of the chair and started taking pics. He was willing to smile and show his pearly whites.



Janalee showed Linc all the cool tools and counted his teeth. Lincoln was really brave the whole time. Then, Dr. Hatch came in to take a quick look. He counted his teeth as well and did a spot check to see if there were any problem areas we needed to keep an eye on. He said everything looked great, gave Lincoln a toothbrush and toothpaste and let Lincoln choose a prize.
Lincoln chose a plastic camel out of the treasure box. He was so happy with his toy and his first visit to the dentist.

Dancing Aubrey

While Joe was in the hospital recovering from his kidney transplant, David and I took care of the girls for a couple of days. One of the items on the itinerary was to take Aubrey to her dance recital. This was David's first ever dance recital he attended. The look on his face when I told him that we were going was priceless.

Before the recital, Aubrey must have been feeling a little nervous because she was not in the mood for pictures. That's not like her. This is the best shot I could get.

She did a wonderful job in her dance. She remembered all the steps and she smiled so big the whole time. After the performance, she was back to herself.




Good job Aubs. We had a great time watching you and Jocey!

Joy School Program

Our Joy School kids performed the Nativity and some Christmas songs last week at Heritage Home in Hurricane. The elderly people loved seeing these adorable kids and the kids loved it too. :) Aubrey was filling in for Bridger, who was sick. We are missing Mary and our angel in this picture too.





These kids really are cute. We had a great time.

Fireman DAN!

Earlier this month Daniel graduated from fire academy at UVU. It is a very strenuous and challenging program. We are so proud of him and his accomplishments.

We love Dan and his cute wife, Corrin. It was fun to attend this event with them.

Every class gives the instructors a thing with the graduates names to hang in the building. This was the one Daniel's class chose. It is way awesome.


The graduation started at 7:30 pm in American Fork. It ended up being a late night for both of my boys because we had to drive home that night. Poor guys.

Gingerbread House

Ever since Lincoln saw his cousin, Thatcher's, gingerbread house, he was obsessed with making one. The other night we put together our candy, crackers and icing and made it happen.


Linc really enjoyed making his little house. We will have to do this every year. :)

Christmas Tree

Linc has a few of his favorite tree ornaments and he asked me to take his picture with them. This one is with the bicycle ornament that he loves.

Capturing the Moment - Joseph to the Rescue

Today in Joy School we practiced the Nativity. We will be performing the Nativity for elderly people next week.

I made part assignments for the day. I decided to have Lincoln play Joseph because Bridger wanted to wear the wise man crown and Matix wanted to hold the shepherd's staff. I hastily draped some brown fabric over Lincoln's head and turned to help the other children get in their consumes. Before I knew it, Lincoln had turned Joseph's head dress into a super hero cape. He was zooming around the room shouting "JOSEPH TO THE RESCUE!"

I absolutely love that kid.

Let it Snow!

Please let it snow in La Verkin. It would sure make this little boy happy. He could not get enough of the snow in Centerville.

Temple Square Lights

After wanting to take Lincoln to Temple Square for several Christmases now, we finally made it. The lights and the temple are breathtaking.

I loved visiting the temple grounds with David, Linc and my mom and dad.


We took lots of pictures. :)


Lincoln was very impressed with the huge tree in the Joseph Smith Building lobby. It was really big. He tried to crawl under the ropes several times to see if there were any presents under the tree branches.
Later, we ate some dinner at the Nauvoo Cafe. It was really good and the perfect spot to warm up before heading back out to look at more lights.


Good company, good times, good scenery, good memories.

Thanksgiving 2010

Thanksgiving 2010 was a pretty small event, by Eves standards that is. We had about 25 people attend the event. We had a great time. Becky and Ryan were kind enough to host the dinner at their home.

Baby Myah came to the party. She was only a few days old in this picture. Becky can't get enough of that little baby.


Lincoln was very excited about Thanksgiving dinner. He was so happy when I placed his plate in front of him. He could not wait to eat all that yummy food.

Late' enjoyed the events as well.
After dinner, Lincoln got hold of this little ukelele and barely let go. He is very impressed with guitars and violins. I wonder if Santa can find a ukele to bring him for Christmas. If you have any tips of where to find one for a decent price, can you please let Santa know? He has had a hard time finding one.

The kids had a great time watching old classics like Frosty, Rudolf and The Grinch.

Starting on about November 1st, David is cold until about March 15th. He is frequently found in this same position.
