The Phantom of the Opera is Here...Inside My Mind

David and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary on Friday. We had a wonderful day! David took me to Las Vegas. It was kinda symbolic since that's where we honeymooned after we were married. It was awesome!

First we ate at a restaurant inside of the Venetian. It was fun to have a little romantic dinner. We talked about some of the funny and special memories that we have together. I can't believe some of the crazy things that David remembers about me. We laughed a lot and had a great time. It was nice to kinda catch up with each other. Our food looked good, but it wasn't that tasty. We still had a really great time though. It felt funny to be without Lincoln. It almost felt like we didn't have any children at all (other than the fact that I kept worrying that Link was freaking out).

David's pizza was okay, but not that great.

I wasn't a huge fan of my lettuce wrap.

I can't believe it's been six years!

After dinner, David and I headed to the theatre to watch The Phantom of the Opera. I was so excited! I have been wanting to see the show for so long. I was really looking forward to it.

When I get really excited, my nose looks huge. I don't know why, but it's kinda weird.

The show was amazing! I loved every second. The story and the music are so beautiful...I cried. The theatre was amazing, the actors were awesome, the set was outstanding and the special effects were incredible. My favorite part was at the beginning when we went back in time to learn the story of the Phantom of the Opera. The theatre around us was restored and the chandelier floated back together while the orchestra pounded out the theme. The picture below does not do it justice. My heart was pounding. It was really loud and really intense.

We had great seats and we really enjoyed the show.

I had never left Lincoln for that long before and no one else has ever tried to put him to bed so I was a little nervous about that. My wonderful sister-in-law, Holli, watched Lincoln for the night. According to her, Lincoln was an angel besides getting so mad that he threw-up all over her carpet. After that, she said everything was great. When we got home, he was sound asleep in his crib.

All in all, we had a great day.

I Love Easter!

There are many reasons why I love the Easter Holiday. I love what Easter means to me as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I also love to see the beginnings of Spring. I have many fun childhood memories associated with Easter as well. However, my most recent memory of a wonderful Easter gift is last year when Lincoln was born on Easter Sunday. That was such a wonderful day, and one that we anticipated for a long time. Easter is a special day to me every year. This last Easter was wonderful as well. The weekend started with my first attempt at making bread and guess what? It worked! The bread was so yummy. I can't take all the credit though,... I used David's mom's recipe which is said to be better than candy. Also, Jill babysat me while I was making the bread to make sure that I did everything right. (Thanks mom!)

The day got even better when my mom and sister, Tori, came down to spend some time before the holiday. We stayed up late on Thursday just talking and catching up. We went to St. George on Friday and attended the St. George Easter Art Show. That is a tradition from when I was very young. I look forward to the Art Show every year. Not necessarily because of the art but, for the tradition and spending time with my mom and sis. We had a great time even though Tori (who is from Ogden) thought she would die from heat stroke before the end of the day.

On Saturday, the rest of the fam came down and we had an Easter Egg Hunt at my house. It was really windy, but we had a good time anyway. Lincoln didn't really get the whole idea of picking up prizes and putting them in your basket, but I had a great time.

Link is a little confused about what to do.
Dan says his hobby is "looking studly!"

Austin is cruising around the yard looking for the loot!

Linkers just looking cute!

Adam had a hard time accepting the fact that some of the presents were for his brother instead of him.

Because of the wind, we weren't able to do some of the things we had planned for the day such as going fishing and hiking so we improvised. Instead, we hung out downstairs and played Guitar Hero and Sing Star. It was really fun!

Dad is a natural Guitar Hero.

Mom has her game face on.

Adam liked playing Sing Star. He even knew some of the songs!

On Sunday, Lincoln and I ditched church because Lincoln seems to be catching every little bug that is on anyone or anything. It seems like he has been sick since October when he had the croup. Since then he has had two sinus infections, RSV, and the stomach flu. I decided that since I work in the Primary (where viruses multiply by the millisecond) we would stay home till he was back to 100%. When David got home from church, we headed up to Parowan to have Easter dinner and hang out. Dinner was yummy and I definitely ate too much. After dinner, we had a pretend birthday party for Lincoln since the Edwards side of the family won't be here for his real birthday. I figured it would be OK since yesterday was Easter and he was born on Easter. Anyway, he wasn't the most gracious gift recipient. He was having a hard time for some reason, but he got some great presents. (Thanks for being so generous everyone!)

Adam was a good helper.

Although he got lots of new toys, Lincoln just wanted a bottle!

One of Lincoln's famous conniptions.

After the party, everyone went their separate ways to resume life without awesome holidays and lots of family time. Mom and Dad went back to Centerville, Tori and Dan headed up to Ogden, David, Dan, Lincoln and I went south to LaVerkin and Mike, Kathi, Adam and Austin stayed at the house in P-town.

I love my family so much and I am already excited for our next get together.

Visiting P-town

We had an interesting weekend. On Saturday, we went to Parowan because my mom and dad were visiting from Centerville. My parents moved to Centerville a few years ago, but they kept the house in Parowan (mostly because my siblings and I would not let them sell it). Anyway, we are glad that they kept the house because it is big enough for everyone to hang out when they visit. Also, my brother, Mike, and his little family live there while they hunt for a house of their own.

While in Parowan, Lincoln did not want much to do with anyone other than me, David or Daniel. He doesn't know my other family members very well. I could tell that it kinda hurt my mom's feelings that he didn't know her. She always jokes about moving back and having my dad commute to SLC and back.

Lincoln let my mom hold him just long enough to get a picture with her, my dad and Daniel.

While Lincoln was trying to show off his crawling skills, his 2 year old cousin, Austin, thought Link was playing horsey. Austin tried to ride on Lincoln's back...and you can imagine how that turned out. Lincoln fell flat on his belly. Although Lincoln was pretty ticked, it was really funny.

Lincoln also found the joy of helium balloons over the weekend. We found one at the house and he absolutely loved playing with it. He kept hitting himself in the face with it. He laughed really hard every time.

Shortly after we got home for the night, Lincoln threw up all over the place. I felt so bad for him. He seemed pretty miserable. The puking has continued into today. I think I have done more laundry over the last few days than I have over the last few weeks.
It was kinda funny because David's dad and I were talking about how when you have kids, you would do things for them that you would not even do for yourself. Right after he said that, I caught some of Lincoln's puke in my hand! I would definitely not ever try to catch my own throw-up, but when it involves your child, it's different. Maybe some of you are gagging at the thought of my catching Lincoln's puke, but to me, it's just not that big of a deal. I don't know....maybe I'm weird.
On Sunday, we went to a little birthday party for David's mom. She is such a great person. She's a good example of what it means to be Christlike. It seems like she is constantly looking for opportunities to serve others. It was fun to celebrate her birthday.

Play Dates and Homecomings

I had a lot of pictures that I've been wanting to post. Some are kinda random, but they are fun anyway.

I took Lincoln and Kate on a walk the other day. It was so nice outside I thought I would take advantage. (Thanks for lending me the stroller Terra!) Kate always puts her arm around Lincoln while in the stroller. I did not pose them. Honest! Also, notice that they both have only one sock? Lincoln insists on wearing just one sock. I always put both on, but soon after, he takes one off. He also insists that Kate follows his trend. He takes one of her socks off for her.

We took Lincoln to the park the other day, (ha ha Linkin Park) anyway... he loved the swings, but he was not so sure what the slide was all about. It was such a beautiful day!

David's youngest brother finished his mission in Durban South Africa and was SUPPOSED to fly in to St. George last night at 10:45. We had a big party at the Pizza Factory (aah...memories) before we went to the airport.
We made signs for all the grandchildren to hold when Michael got off the plane. Since Michael had never met Lincoln, we made him the sign pictured above. Lincoln was so tired and cranky because it was WAY passed his bedtime.

We waited and waited...... and waited and the plane finally landed. We lined up with our signs and cameras waiting for Michael to come off the plane. We saw many people come off the plane, but there was no Michael. Other passengers on the flight told me that there was not a missionary on the plane. I informed David's mom of the situation. Sadly, he missed his connecting flight and was stuck in Salt Lake City for the night. We were told that he would be able to catch the first flight this morning so we all went home and returned to the airport bright and early to see our missionary come home. It was so much fun to see him again. He is a great guy and we missed him a lot.

David's parents are so glad to have thier last missionary home safe and sound. I guess they will be the next to go.
