This week has been pretty crazy. It all started on Monday when David called and told me that his mom had been in an accident on her bike. She was riding in the rain when she skid trying to turn a corner. She shattered her shoulder and had a bad head wound. She got stitches right away, but had to wait for surgery later that night. David was really worried about her. He understands what it's like to be in bad shape after an accident. I think the hardest thing is that she was in so much pain and they couldn't do much for her. The surgery went well and she came home late Tuesday night.
Wednesday was my birthday and I had a great time. I spent the day working and playing with Linko. David bought me a gift certificate for a one hour massage. I was so excited! When David got home from work, we went to Texas Road House to eat and then he took me shopping. I found some killer deals! It was great!
Wednesday morning, Lincoln woke up with a cough. I figured it was just a cold so I decided I would just watch him to see if he gets better or worse. He was not getting better so I decided to take him to the doctor today. I am glad I did because he has an ear infection in both ears. It would have been terrible to endure the weekend without any antibiotics. My back hurts so bad from holding him so much. When he's sick all he wants is to be held. That massage gift card will definitely come in handy. Hopefully Lincoln starts feeling better soon.
Other than those main events this week, I have been busy with work and taking care of my sick little boy. My job is going well. I think it's an ever changing job description...at least until we get the school more established. I feel fulfilled and happy that I can work from home. What a blessing!

Lunch = Munch

I just wanted to do a quick post with something cute Lincoln said today. When I asked him if he was ready for lunch, he responded with "munch". I think from now on, that's what we'll call that meal.

A lot of people have been asking about my new job. I am actually an online school teacher for the Utah Virtual Academy. It's a way cool gig. The best part is that I still get to be home with Lincoln. However, David and I have been struggling with Lincoln over one tiny thing. His favorite word is "NO"! He says it all day long and in a super sassy tone. Does anyone have any suggestions on how we can squash this undesirable habit? It's getting out of control! Is this just a phase? If not, how do we get it to stop? What do we do when it's down right rude when he's saying it to people when they ask for a hug? Are we taking it to seriously and we just need to relax? Please...any input would be much appreciated. We love the little guy to pieces, but parenting is hard sometimes.

Yeah! Blogging at home!

You'll have to excuse me if this post is all over the place. It's late and my brain is fried.
So I finally have wireless Internet hooked up and I am blogging at home! I don't have to go anywhere to do my blogs anymore. It's awesome! We also go tour fancy new computer hooked up tonight. It's so cool!
Last night I got back from attending a meeting for my job in SLC. It was so good to get a better feel for what I am supposed to be doing. I am feeling more and more confident about what I am doing. It's going to be good.
I have a funny story too. When I was filling out all the paperwork for my job, I noticed that my driver's license was expired. It wasn't expired by just a few months either. It had been expired for almost a year! I was supposed to renew it by my birthday last year! I am such a nerd! I guess it's just a good thing that I didn't get pulled over in that time right? So I went right away to renew my license and was informed that I had to take the test since I didn't renew it within a certain amount of time. CRUD! Fortunately, I passed the test (barely). Who cares what the score is as long as you pass! I am just glad that I have a current license now.

Beautiful Day!

Today has been such a great day! I have been trying to get this sweet job that my friend Angie told me about. The process started close to a month ago. I interviewed just before Christmas and was unofficially offered the job that same day. Today I was notified that I officially got the job! I am so excited! I feel like I can openly talk about it now. It's going to be so great for us.

Another bonus for today is that we finally got Internet hooked up at our house. I am looking forward to having such easy access to the Internet. Obviously, I have to have the Internet for my new job.

David came home from work early which was awesome! What makes it better is that he came bearing gifts. He brought us a wireless router for our fancy new Internet and the receipt from his purchase of a beautiful new mac computer! I was so happy that I started to cry. Our computer has been struggling lately and she was ready to be retired. We now have the new hotness to replace our old and busted. Ironically, today was the last day of old Bessie's life (Bessie is the name of our old computer). She officially gave up the ghost. Maybe she could sense that we finally purchased a replacement for her. She was good to us through all of our college years and beyond. I hope our new hotness will be as good of a computer as Bessie had been.

Anyway, I am having a great day today and I wanted to share my excitement with all of you. I hope you all get to experience a day like this someday.

Christmas Joy

What a great Christmas we had! I've got a lot of pictures to post and a lot to talk about too. Beware...this post is going to get lengthy.

Just days before Christmas, we got hit with a snow storm. We got lots of snow! Well,...lots by Southern Utah standards that is. Neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet, nor hail could keep Lincoln away from his beloved Cozy Coupe.




For Christmas Eve, we headed to Parowan for the traditional family dinner. I was so excited to get there because I would get to see Tori. I have missed her so much since she moved to St. Louis. I could not wait to get there to see her and her husband and also her cute little belly. We had a great time!




Lincoln was so happy that night. He was in heaven with all of my mom's little travel size lotion and shampoo bottles. He carried those around all night. Every time I looked at him, he had a different one in his hands.



Later that night, the PJ elf came to visit the house. He left brand new pajamas for everyone to wear on Christmas Eve night. The kids were so excited about their new jammers they could hardly contain themselves. It was all we could do to get them to sit still long enough for this picture.


Lincoln, Adam and Austin did dances for us in the front room until they wore themselves out and fell asleep.





The next morning was wonderful! We took our time and enjoyed the moment. It was so great to be with the family on Christmas!




This toy was a hit...literally. It is a little boat that comes with a hammer and balls. Lincoln loves to whack the hammer so the balls go down inside. It was definitely his favorite toy. Thanks mom and dad!



David gave me tickets to my favorite comedian, Brian Regan. I am so excited to go. Great gift honey!


After all the presents were opened, it was time to celebrate Tori's birthday. She was born on Christmas day. We always try really hard to make her birthday special in its own way. Since Dan was born on New Years, we celebrated his birthday too.






On Christmas night, we got a snow storm. We decided to take advantage of the snow fall by playing!



Lincoln was less than enthusiastic about getting all bundled up to go outside, but once we got out, he had fun!




Lincoln rode on a sled pulled by the 4 wheeler with me. Then he got to ride in front with Mike while he pulled his kids. So fun!




The week was filled with lots of fun. We even had a baby shower for Tori amid all the chaos. Many memories were made and I hope everyone had as much fun as I did.
