Thanks Jana and Kate!

On Thursday Lincoln and I went over to play with Jana and Kate. Lincoln was so excited to see his friend. The kids played really well together. I could tell Lincoln missed Kate badly. We stayed for a few hours and when it was time to go home, Kate and Jana gave Lincoln a little gift.





Yep! They gave Lincoln the awesome Barbie wheelchair.


Sure, it's missing a handle, but that just means it's been loved. The gift was so thoughtful. It might sound silly, but this little wheelchair really means something to Lincoln. It was really touching that Jana recognized what it means and gave it to him. Thanks so much! Since we have brought it home it has been hard to get it out of Lincoln's hands.

One more thing. On the way home from St. George tonight we were doing things to try to keep Lincoln awake. I asked him if he would count with me. I said "one," he said "two".....pause.... "ree"...."ore"...."ie"...."gix"...."gagen"...."eet"...."nie"...."tee!" I was such a proud mommy! In my humble opinion, he's a genius!

He's Got the Blues...

I was playing on my computer tonight trying to figure out the newest version of imovie when I stumbled across pictures from Lincoln's birthday party. Shortly after, I found some music to go with the mood of the day. It's short and kinda lame, but I hope you enjoy it. (Holy Cow! This takes forever to upload.)

My boy Makes me sMiLe!

I just have to post a cute thing that Lincoln does lately. When we are leaving to go somewhere or just leaving the room, he is sure to say good bye to whatever is there. Today, as we were leaving the house to go to the doctor, he said "bye walk" (walk=stroller) and he waves his hand and blows kisses.

He is also obsessed with our neighbor's water feature in their front yard. When he wants to go see it, he says "wotty, wotty, wotty,..." and points to the neighbor's house. When I take him over to see it, he'll stand by the edge and just stare at it. Then, when I tell him it's time to go, he says "bye wotty" and blows kisses. Here are some of the things he says "bye" to....puppy, blankie, drink, outside, stairs, popsicle, pickle, choo-choo, shoes, drink....you get the idea.

I just think Lincoln's age is so much fun! I wanted to be sure to post this before he grows out of it and I forget. That would be sad!

The Zoo, The Birthday and The Bunny (I really should try to not include so many events in one post)

On April 7th, my school held a school wide outing to Hogle Zoo. My job is so great for lots of reasons, but one reason is that I can take Lincoln to these outings with me. I brought my mom along too. I was so glad that she was willing to go with us. Here are some of the animals that we got to see there.



Lincoln really liked the bears. We took a break for lunch in a little grassy area. Lincoln was grateful for the break and so were we.

During our break, Lincoln decided to show off his smile.


Lincoln did a great job at the zoo. He walked for the majority of the time and he missed his nap time. Around 2:00, things turned sour. We were standing in line, waiting to get on the train that takes you around the zoo and Lincoln lost it! Those who know Lincoln know that patience is not one of his strong qualities. I think that the waiting, no nap and being SO tired was a bad combination. He screamed the whole time we were waiting in line. I was getting dirty looks from people in line with us. They were probably thinking, "doesn't she know how to control her kid?" The answer to their question...no. At least not when he's like that! He was hitting me, biting his lip, rolling on the ground, kicking etc. I wanted to get out of line, but we were so close to getting on the train. My mom talked me into waiting a little longer. I am glad she did because when we got on the train, he settled down. Lincoln covered his eyes the entire ride. As soon as we got off the train, we headed to the car and started for home. Within five minutes, Lincoln was OUT! I was glad that he still got a nap for the day. He NEEDED it!

We hurried home to LaVerkin because the next day was Lincoln's birthday. I had a lot to do to get ready for the party. I decorated the house.....

and did my best to keep Lincoln happy for the day.

Mike, Kathi, Adam, Austin and Brooke came from Enoch to help celebrate the birthday. We were so glad that they came! Lincoln had a great time with his cousins.


However, the more people that came, the more nervous Lincoln became. Along with patience, crowds aren't his strong suit either. The following pictures demonstrate the birthday conniption...


When it was time for presents, he decided to settle down. Thanks everyone for your generosity!



The conniption resumed when we started to sing Happy Birthday. I think at that point, Lincoln realized that he was the star of the show and he did not like all the attention.


After everyone went home, Lincoln settled down and we all went to sleep. The next morning, things were all better...thank goodness!


On Saturday, we went to Parowan to participate in the city Easter egg hunt. Again, when Lincoln had to wait to start the hunt, he was not a happy boy. David got to wrestle him this time.


The hunt started and life was okay again.

He wanted that candy bad!


He got it!

Later that day, we headed back to LaVerkin for a little hunt at our house.

Lincoln was REALLY excited to get outside and start!


At the beginning of the hunt, Lincoln found a bottle of bubbles and it seemed like nothing else mattered. He was not interested in anything other than those bubbles.

He was trying to blow the bubbles while they were still in the package.

Fortunately, Kathi deterred him from the bubbles with a big, blue sucker.

We tried to get all the boys in a picture together with their matching shirts. It didn't go very well.

Guitar Hero World Tour is quickly becoming a tradition for our family get togethers. I love watching my mom and dad play. It's so fun!


We just hung out in the basement for most of the afternoon. It was great!


As the adults were preparing dinner, we needed something to keep the kids busy. We decided that Dora the Explorer would hypnotize them long enough to get our things done. This picture shows how bad too much TV can be...:)

After a yummy dinner, everyone went back home. It was so much fun having the family here for the day. We missed having Tori, Dan and Alexis here though.

This morning, Lincoln woke up to more gifts from the Easter Bunny. I think the bunny may have gone a little overboard this year.
