I would never forgive myself if I don't take the chance to record some of the things that I see Lincoln do. It makes me so sad to think that he won't always have such innocence and imagination. I really wish I could capture the moments that make my heart smile and put them in a bottle on my shelf so that I can remember these amazing, funny and enlightening moments. I guess recording the moments are as close as I can get.
Lately, Lincoln has been putting blankets over his head, (and ours) and calling it a tent. He gets so excited to play in his tents and he wants to share it with David and me. Once we are in the tent, he politely asks us if we want a quesadilla or a cheese sandwich. Once we reply with our request, "makes" us quesadillas or cheese sandwiches. That is the standard meal for being in the tent. Next, we have to eat our meal. He is so sweet and imaginative. I love playing in Lincoln's tents.
Another moment I would like to remember is the moment of Lincoln's "Big Book." A few weeks ago, I got a Target Christmas catalog in the mail with ads and coupons. Lincoln got hold of that book a few weeks ago and has not let go of it. He carries that "Big Book" (which is not very big) everywhere. He asks to sleep with it and he is constantly reading it. Needless to say, it is tattered, torn, wrinkled and worn, but he does not care. I have put countless strips of tape on the book to help mend the torn pages. I wonder if he will be bored with the big book once Christmas is over.

Oh My WORDY! David is 30!
On November 4th, David turned 30! I can't believe that we are that old. I remember when my mom and dad turned 30. It was a big deal. How is it possible that my husband is that old? How is it possible that I will be that old soon?
I asked David how it feels to be 30. He said it's weird thinking about the fact that he is 30, but he does not feel different. That is probably the typical male answer to that question. I am not sure if I will handle y 30th birthday with grace and dignity. We'll see in about 14 months I guess.
Here is David with our traditional birthday pancake.
I spent all morning making him a birthday cake to surprise him with at work. I was pretty happy with how it turned out.
Lincoln and I drove to St. George and surprised David at work with some balloons, presents and his cake. He was really surprised. He didn't know we were going to do that. We HAD to! David was 30! You have to make a big deal out of that.
I planned on taking David on a little date later that night, but we were not able to find a babysitter, so we took Linc along. We went to dinner and then headed home for a movie to watch as a family. It was a nice night. I felt bad about not having a party for David. He said it was fine because he is not much of a party guy. I know he's not the type for parties so I didn't feel too guilty.
I sure love my old husband. He is an awesome guy and I am really lucky to have him as mine. Happy Birthday Davey!

According to Lincoln
I am loving this stage of Lincoln's life. He says and does the funniest things. Sometimes it's all I can do to keep from cracking up when he says certain things.
For example:
To Lincoln, every cat is a "naughty cat." David and I may have had something to do with that.
According to Lincoln this is not Thomas the Train.
His name is Thomas S. Monson the Train.
Santa Clause lives at the North POOL.
Guns are not guns. They are SHOOT GUNs. I have even found myself using that term in everyday language.
His new snake stuffed animal that was made by his friend's mother is named, FURRY the snake.
According to him, the fly that was buzzing around his room during his quiet time is nice and funny.
These are not bowties, but BUTTERFLIES. That makes sense don't you think?
There are so many more fun things that Lincoln says and does. I need to be better at documenting all of them. I am so glad that I get to spend my days watching him learn and grow. He makes me smile and laugh all day long.

Halloween 2010
It seems that we have created a little Halloween tradition. Kathi and I have taken our kids to Jumpn Jacks on Halloween for the last 2 years. It has been really fun. This year, they had lots of fun Halloween activites for the kids to do.

This is what Linc looked like the majority of the time. He was jumping so hard that it was almost impossible to get a good picture of him. :)
As always, I enjoyed the slides almost as much as the kids.
Later that evening, we went to Enoch to trick or treat with Mike and Kathi's kids.
Linc was a little freaked out by Adam's Darth Vadar costume. When Lincoln gets scared, he covers his ears. I have no idea why. He has done this for years. He kept his hands on his ears any time Adam was within 10 feet of him.
What a cute little trick or treater!
