Too Pooped to Party
Despite the fact that Lincoln is almost 10 months old now, he still doesn't have any teeth. However, I think that atleast one little razor is trying to push its way through his sore gums as we speak. Linc has not been able to sleep very well for a few nights now, but last night was horrible! My poor baby was clearly in a lot of pain and I could not do anything for him. He had a few doses of Tylenol and some teething tablets, but those didn't seem to do the trick for him. Needless to say, I was up most of the night trying to comfort him and get him to sleep. I am sooo exhausted. Everytime I would lay him down after helping him get to sleep, he would choke on his drool and start to cough and the whole thing would start over again. My sweet husband took the day off work to stay home and take care of Lincoln so that I could catch up on my beauty rest. I say beauty rest because these days I am looking pretty haggard. Does anybody have some magic tricks to soothe teething discomfort? I do the Tylenol, tablets, and frozen teethers. That Oragel stuff just makes him mad. I don't think he appreciates the way it makes his gums feel. What else can I do? I look forward to hearing some expert advice from you super moms (and future super moms) out there.

Hey Shannon, well we had our fair share of teething nightmares at my house. Jack got his 1st by 4 months...not fun! I found that Motrien works really good. It last 6 hours verses Tylenol's 4 hours. I was told to switch them up, like use Tylenol in the day and Motrien and night. I am sorry that you are going through this I remember those sleepless nights! Just remember it will pass! good luck!
Shannon, I wish I had some advice, but I have drilled you and Tara enough on everything, and I GOT NOTHING! If you need advice about potty training in a couple years, I'll share our nephew successes and failures, but that is about all. I hope you do get some beauty rest, because sweetie, you are NOT haggard, you are a HoTTIE!
Blogging is fun!! Becky
And Shannon, I totally just copied and pasted that medical information about my sciatic nerve, like I am that smart, I totally fooled you!! I am like the farthest from Dr. Becky there is!!
LOL
My only advice is to let David go to work and bring Lincoln over to me and you can head home for some beauty rest. He was a very good boy for us, so bring him back over. I am feeling pretty good again. I may even get dressed today, but lets not push it- I am still not wearing make-up. :)
I'm so sorry you have to go through that! It's so hard watching your little one be in discomfort, huh! I agree with Rachael...switching off Motrin & Tylenol seems to do the trick!
Good luck!!!
Shanny.... Piggyback motrin and tylenol. Give motrin and then 4 hours later tylenol then 4hrs motrin and so on... It has helped me with my 5 rug rats.... Good Luck!....
